The unmistakable mark of the Mustang; the galloping horse on the red, white & blue banner. The 1964½ Mustang's fender "Mustang" script measured only 4 3/8 inches. For the 1965 model year change, the script was lengthened to be a full 5 inches. The 1966 script remained unchanged. However, this script would be continually changed in years to come with individual letters spelling "Mustang" in 1967, cursive script in '68 and a slightly different cursive script in '69-'73. Back |
